SEN. CHIZ AND HEART EVANGELISTA ARE IN THE HOUSE OF SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN

Sen. Chiz G. Escudero with his wife Heart Evangelista graced the inauguration of the new building of  Sangguniang Panlalawigan on March 9, 2018 at Capitol Compound , Sorsogon City.

Sen. Escudero was the guest of honor in the said event. In his talk, the good senator informed the public that construction of Sangguniang Panlalawigan building was the result of the collaboration of the local and national government referring to the partnership between him and Gov. Bobet Rodrigueza.

He also mentioned that the Capitol compound is due for rehabilitation and modification. He divulged that the capitol compound is the biggest contagious government center in the province with a 7-hectare  land area.

Escudero added that kasanggahayan village will be redesigned soon affecting offices situated in the area such as LTO office  which will be transferred in front of the City Hall and the DepEd Province Division Office  which will be relocated to BALOGO SPORTS COMPLEX.

To date, end-termer Sen. Chiz G. Escudero is doing a lot of things for the Province of Sorsogon,  a rare effort exerted since he became Senator for about 12 years.

Sen. Escudero facilitated billions of pesos from the national government to the Province of Sorsogon  for the construction of various infrastructure projects.

SOON TO OPEN: ALBAY-SORSOGON ALTERNATE ROAD

Manito, Albay and Bacon, Sorsogon  alternate road is now  being fast tracked for completion in 2018 by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

This was bared by DPWH Bicol Regional Director Danilo E. Versola when asked about the status of the 15.3 KM Bacon-Manito Road project implementation. Versola said his office is closely  monitoring the progress of the project to ensure timely implementation and completion of the project at the target date.

This 2-lane road with five bridges traversing mountainous terrain along the east coast of Albay and Sorsogon is being implemented by the regional office with only three (3) ongoing contracts to be completed.

Director  Versola reported that one of the contracts which covers the 3.9-kilometer gaps in Barangay Osiao to Barangay Sto. Niño in Bacon, Sorsogon is almost complete at 93.7 percent work accomplishment. The amount of 183 million was allocated  to undertake road opening, paving, drainage construction, and right-of-way acquisition.

The P110 million worth of contract for  the opening of 699 lineal meters road and concreting of 232 lineal meter road, and construction of two (2) bridges in Bacon Sorsogon is now 40 percent completed

On the other hand, the last phase involving the P150 million contract for the  concreting of 836 lineal meter road, gravelling of 756 lineal meter road, and construction of two (2) bridges also in Bacon District , Sorsogon City is now also under construction.

If completed, travel time from Sorsogon to Legaspi and vice versa  will be reduced by at least 15-20 minutes.

“This road will provide a better and safer alternative route to the traveling public. It will not only result to substantial savings for motorists but also improve economic condition of these nature-rich areas of Albay and Sorsogon,” said Director Versola.

BALOGO SPORTS COMPLEX IS UP FOR REHABILITATION

SORSOGON  CITY- Technical Persons of  the  Philippine Sports Commission  are set to conduct ocular inspection  at  Balogo Sports Complex  in Brgy. Balogo, Sorsogon City  comes March 2018.

     This was the statement of Mr. Vladimir Ramon G. Frivaldo, PSC Consultant,  during the  caucus with the Personnel of DEpEd Sorsogon City

    Frivaldo said they already asked the provincial government to prepare the rehabilitation plan of the said complex to enable them to assess which of the facilities must  be prioritized.

      He added that the Philippine Sports Commission  through the office of Atty, Sannah Boayes Frivaldo, Executive Director of PSC is very much willing to augment necessary  fund for the rehabilitation of the said sports facilities  so that the Province of Sorsogon will again be able to  host PALARONG BICOL or even PALARONG PAMBANSA just like other nearby bicol  provinces.

       Mr. Frivaldo is confident that Sorsogon Province can host again big  sports events. He is optimistic that by 2020, after 25 years , Palarong Bicol will be held in  Balogo Sports Complex.

He appealed to local government officials,  sorsogon congressmen and Sen. Francis G. Escudero to extend special allocation of funds  for the speedy  rehabilitation of the said complex.

       Meantime, as of this writing, Sen. Francis G. Escudero was also exerting efforts to effect rehabilitation efforts in Balogo Sports Complex. DPWH was tasked by the senator to prepare program of works to areas that need construction  and installation of facilities.
